Michael Gienger received the diploma degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich, Germany, in 1998. From 1998 to 2003, he was research assistant at the Institute of Applied Mechanics of the TUM, addressing issues in design and realization of biped robots. He received his Ph.D. degree with a dissertation on “Design and Realization of a Biped Walking Robot”. After this, Michael Gienger joined the Honda Research Institute Europe in Germany in 2003.
